Nothing motivates me to do commission paintings more than what is meaningful to clients. I'm pleased to be able to paint on Pepper the doggie based on her 13 photos supplied by the client including some blurred but happy ones. I was told this watercolor work would bring very fond memories to the family. Doggie#32_Pepper is now on its way to Dallas.
A few more days till "Rhythm" the 21st Artists Abroad Annual Exhibition comes to a close on Nov 13 Friday. What a great chance to meet and catch up with friends, artists, buddies, mentors, students and visitors who dropped by! Many pieces of artworks were sold, plus commission works. Really appreciate everything :)

about some exhibits ... The land and space so vast, people so few, nature defines the landscape. Small boats, simple houses, wooden furniture, all passing down from generation to generation, they tell the story of a trusting life and community. Shorebirds enjoy the majestic choir of crashing waves at rugged coastlines. Quiet waters in a brook join in to declare their presence by gushing out immense energy at heights. Most captivating to me is the awe-inspiring sound of silence at dawn that continues to promise a new day filled with hopeful adventures.
Mark the dates, friends! I'm gonna show a new series of oil paintings very soon with my art buddies at Artists Abroad in HK. Everyone welcome :)
Artists Abroad's 21st Annual Exhibition "Rhythm" will be held at The Rotunda, Exchange Square, Central, Hong Kong, from 2nd-13th November 2015. Join us at the Opening Reception on Monday 2nd November, 6-9 pm. Open daily 10am - 8pm. Some commission works were delightedly accepted by client! She even picked up one more painting from my series to add into the framed collection. Really pleased to see them go together - as if we were matchmakers :)
Stepped into the studio in the morning to see this finished oil painting by the window where natural light shines in. It's fascinating to spot the sheen of paints looks as though the calm water literally glitters in the sunrise!
Travelling to Newfoundland in NE Canada, I felt so inspired by the nature! I think I'm ready to paint my soul!
“My work this year has been influenced by a recent visit to Newfoundland, Canada. The trip has found my soul resting in the harmony of nature - the rhythmic dialogues between the sky, water and land are simply enlightening and thought provoking ... In depicting such ideas, my hands once again go back to my all-time favourite of simple drawing and sketching in oils with a palette knife.” I missed my part in April as I was away in US/Canada, but I'm glad I could have my fun participation in painting these walls for them!
